Have you ever wanted to be more disciplined at reading your Bible?
For many years, this was something that I struggled with immensely. No matter how hard I tried, life always seemed to get in the way. However, over the past couple of years, I have developed a habit that has fueled my life in so many ways: I wake up early and begin each day with Bible reading, journaling, and prayer. Honestly, it’s one of the main reasons that this blog even exists.
I was recently asked to join the creative team at a church here in my hometown and during one of our planning sessions, a survey came back from the congregation that sparked this idea in my mind. When asked what they wanted most, they replied that they wanted more guidance in reading the Bible–they wanted someone to help them understand and apply it to their lives.
I thought it a great opportunity to provide a resource for those of you that may feel the same way.
Each morning, on my Facebook page, I have begun sharing a short devotional to start each day. I’m calling it the RICH Devotional. I’m also sharing via Twitter with the hashtag #RICHDevotional
I see it as an opportunity to share insight and wisdom that I’m learning in my quiet time each day. Moreover, I’m encouraging you to do the same.
If you haven’t, please LIKE my Facebook page and every morning, by 7pm EST, I will post the day’s devotional. I encourage you to stop by when you can and, if it moves you, to share it with others.
On this podcast episode, I share the inspiration that caused me to begin and a story about gaining knowledge through humility and discipline.
